Hello ladies have no fear! It does a body good to workout when your pregnant. I just found out that I am pregnant with my second child!! I am very excited and wasn’t sure about continuing my workout. I have a gym membership that only does a circuit training workout with cardio in between. I’ve been going for about 6mo now and I love going! Plus I feel like being in my 30s it gets harder to loose the weight, so I want to continue going for my own good and health.
My trainers are very helpful and modify my workouts for me and I still leave feeling like I got a great workout in. I’m sore the next day and it’s a double whammy because of being pregnant and workout soreness…awesome!! It’s a great feeling though.
Working out while pregnant has many perks. It’s easier on labor and helps your body to bounce back quicker. I wish I had exercised in some sort of fashion with my first born but I have to be honest I didn’t do anything other than walking a block or two a handful of times during the 9months.
With this second pregnancy I feel a difference already because I’ve been working out before getting pregnant and have continued working out. I am not as tired as I was during my first to where all I wanted to do was sleep. The big difference now is I have more energy. I feel more confident!
Since I’ve spoken with my doctor and trainers about my workout regimen they have made me feel extra confident. So don’t be afraid that your going to hurt your baby just be cautious and do what you can. Your body will tell you otherwise and if so stop and take breaks and a breather. No one is judging you! You do what you can and feel great about yourself. Remember being pregnant isn’t the easiest thing and we gain x amount of weight during the pregnancy that we don’t want but we don’t have a choice. So let’s be some strong women and make the best of it! Be pregnant, be healthy, love yourself and love your life!
A few great tips while working out:
1. BREATHE BREATHE BREATHE
2. Monitor your heart rate
3. Drink lots of water
4. Don’t do any abdominal exercises that will add any types of pressure to the baby area
5.Don’t lie on your back during your second & third trimester
GO MOMMYS GO YOU CAN DO THIS!
Isn’t this suppose to be a first time moms dream getting that nursery ready! Well this mom kept it kinda boring to be honest. I wanted to decorate my sons entire room with a jungle baby theme. Cute right?? Well I never got around to decorating and part of the problem was deciding what I wanted to do.
Do I want decal stickers, do I want to paint, do I want to just hang pictures??? I could not make up my mind for the life of me and now I’m actually happy I didn’t lol. Only because my son is almost two now and I think he would love a super hero theme and its something he can grow into! Im now thinking if I had done that baby jungle theme I would probably have wanted to change it all by now.
So for almost two years I’ve just had the basics in his room and it was really all I needed. The basics consist of a crib which I didn’t even have a carousel over it, changing table with three drawers beneath and a glider rocker. We also had a queen bed for my husband and I to sleep in because I had to be close to our baby and couldn’t stand the thought of being in another room without him. It all worked out except for that changing table. I truly got no use out of it because it just seemed easier for us to change him on our bed.
If I had known that before I probably wouldn’t have gotten a changing table and maybe just a small dresser because all the changing table part has become is storage which works either way. At first I felt bad that I didn’t really do much but now I’m excited to really decorate his room with something I know he will love and actually enjoy now that he’s a little older. Something he can even grow into.
So for those moms who don’t get around to decorating their baby’s room don’t worry and don’t feel bad because as they get a little older they start liking certain movie characters and toys. This makes it more fun for you to decorate around because its something they enjoy!
As first time parents we had heard many stories of our friends and their kids sleeping with them and how uncomfortable it was for them! We told each other that that would never happen to us! Well it has happened.
Up until the first year our son slept in his crib and he slept great! Then he got sick for the first time and had dry sinuses due to his first weather change. So he couldn’t breath very well and I felt terrible and just wanted him to be in bed with us so we could keep a close eye. Now we are stuck! lol We have had some rough nights because he tosses and turns and we will get a foot or hand slap to the face. It scares us especially when we are sound asleep! Best of all those little feet digging in one of our backs all night so when we wake our back aches! Its all great right?, just grab a cup of coffee =).
So almost a year later we are going to attempt to put him back in his bed! Which I will keep you posted as to how this goes and what was the easiest and most difficult thing about this process.
I would highly recommend to try and fight this and stick to your words on not having your baby sleep with you! It is hard because they are so precious and you may give in like the rest of us. But keep in mind that they won’t be sleeping with you forever and they are only little once. Plus there is always a way to get them back in their own bed with or without a struggle. BUT If you can avoid this then perfect!!
Amazon mom is amazing! I love to shop online because its what is easiest for me. I’m sorry but shopping with my toddler can be very difficult at times and I’m sure I’m not the only mom. =) So online I shop!
On amazon.com you can find ANYTHING! Plus with Amazon mom you can get diapers 20% off and every order is FREE 2day shipping! Plus you can try it free for 30days and if you like it then you pay $ 99 for the year! It’s a well spent $99.
So what mom wouldn’t want to get a discount on diapers, wipes, food etc. Any savings is a savings in my eyes! You can even set to ship on a certain day of the month this way you know when to expect your next case of diapers, wipes etc.!
You will be surprised to find how quickly your baby will go through all the baby essentials! But not only do you need to shop for baby, you can shop for anything you need and it arrives in just two days! I have to say half of the stuff I want to buy is always cheaper on amazon! So I will wait the two days vs. buying in store and having it immediately. Its great trust me it takes a big load off my shoulders to be an amazon mom!
As first time parents my husband and I didn’t know any better and we would always use those cute little hand mittens to cover our sons hands because we were worried that he would scratch himself in the face/eyes. Im sure as any parent would think to do that.
So at our first pediatrician visit I asked. Are mittens ok to use and for how long? How do I clip my babies nails? and what was the best way because I was so worried I would clip my babies skin. He said that I as a mom would have to just go for it and do my best because if I kept putting mittens on his hands that would keep baby from using his hands to explore touch and feel. He recommend clipping them or using a emory board nail file. I used the clippers, I went the brave route!
During nap times I pulled those clippers out and started clipping his nails! He never woke up and I got the job done. Finger nails and toes! I have to admit that I did snip his skin just a little(nothing major) and he cried and I felt horrible! but in the end it wasn’t a big deal, it happened and we both got over it. So don’t be afraid moms, remember we can do it! we can do everything! =)
SO ever since that visit, I put the mittens away and he never used them again! I did save them, as moms we tend to save everything from our first child LOL.
So as a mommy to be you have had a good 8mo to getting all the important baby essentials and getting the adorable baby room ready and the last thing is packing that hospital bag. I remember I wanted my own hospital gown, blanket and pillow along with some magazines to read. WELL let me tell you all that is out the door once you step into that hospital!
What to pack you ask?
This is going to sound silly…..chapstick, I know your probably saying to yourself ‘chapstick?’ but yes its a plus! I don’t know what I would have done without my Burt’s bees
I’m just guessing its from breathing and ‘trying’ to relax yourself that your lips dry up quick. I used this several times and made sure my husband had it with him for when I needed it.
A good pair of house slippers. After baby you will need to eventually get up and move around the hospital for your own good and some comfy slippers were easy on the feet.
Some under garments and a nice pair of comfy clothes for when you leave the hospital.
Oh and don’t forget about daddy! Make sure he has plenty of snacks and drinks so they can be as energized as possible. They too will get no time for breaks or sleep. Ok maybe 30-45min of sleep but thats it. =)
So in the end you can pack as you wish but keep those three in mind for yourself. These are the three main necessities that I am glad I had with me. I didn’t once look at a magazine or put on a full face of make-up, just some powder and I just used the hospital gown they gave me. Trust me I have always been one to overpack but just think, you are going to have everything supplied to you from the hospital, so why worry about anything else. If you really need something that you realized you can’t be without that is what your family and friends are for! As your main focus now is your bundle of joy!
