Newborn clothes are oh so cute and tiny but your newborn will grow out of them quicker than any other size! So if you can restrain from buying to many newborn sizes do so. I accepted any hand me downs and bought a few bulk sets of newborn onsies. Before I knew it my newborn was wearing the next size up 3-6mo! Thats when I started my real shopping =)! Because even if that size was a little big I knew he would grow into it. This follows for all sizes, they will grow into it eventually. So if its a little big now worries.
Same thing goes for diapers! They will grow out of newborn diapers and into size one before you know it! So if you plan for a diaper shower request for sizes 2 and up this way all you have to focus on are buying a few newborn and size one boxes. As for sizes 2 and up your baby will be in those longer in which you will need plenty of what you can get.
So remember don’t hesitate to ask family or friends who also have children if they have any newborn clothes they can spare!
Ok mommy’s to be I have to admit that throughout my whole pregnancy I took the gummy vitamins. Other than taking the doctor prescribed vitamins she said that the gummy ones were just as great as long as it had all the required amounts of DHA, iron, folic acid etc. which she checked and they did! SO if you aren’t enjoying the prescribed pre-natal vitamins ask your doctor if its ok to just take the gummy ones! Trust me they are a lot easier to take and yummy!
I also took calcium chewable tablets for added calcium and these too were easier on the tummy! Along with an added DHA pill!
This was my first baby and by not taking the doctor prescribed prenatal vitamins I was ok with it as long as I was taking a prenatal with the right amounts of what I needed during my pregnancy along with the added vitamins! =) Trust me my husband and I made sure that our little one was getting all the nutrients he needed to grow big and strong!
So again don’t be don’t be afraid to ask your doctor for another option if the prescribed ones are to harsh or don’t settle well for you.
As a mom we are always looking for great deals right??
What I have come to find out are that baby/toddler shoes are VERY expensive. NOT only that but they will wear an adorable pair of shoes two or three times before their feet outgrow them! I have had that moment where I said Ahhhhhh I spent how much on these shoes and now he can’t wear them anymore?! why are they so tiny and expensive???
SO I have discovered a great site for great deals on shoes, clothes and toys! The magical words are Zulily.com they send you emails daily on their new deals and they literally carry everything you need for your child or yourself!
You MUST check this out, all you have to do is sign up. It is not spam trust me and if you don’t like it just unsubscribe. I guarantee you will find deals that you won’t want to pass up.
I have purchased some cute shoes and clothes for my son. Shoes have cost me anywhere from 4.99-$12.99. Hurley T’s from 9.99-12.99. Its all great quality! Trust me, I was a little skeptical because I had never shopped this site and it wasn’t recommend to me so I didn’t know what the quality of the product would be once it arrived at my door. Well I have to tell you I have been very happy with all my purchases and I get so many compliments on my son outfits that look pricey but aren’t! Now the only downside is there are no returns and shipping can take a little longer than expected(up to a month on certain products). Zulily does send you a shipment email and tracking. So hang in there once you receive your product its great and you will enjoy it! Its a savings worth waiting for!
Amazon mom is amazing! I love to shop online because its what is easiest for me. I’m sorry but shopping with my toddler can be very difficult at times and I’m sure I’m not the only mom. =) So online I shop!
On amazon.com you can find ANYTHING! Plus with Amazon mom you can get diapers 20% off and every order is FREE 2day shipping! Plus you can try it free for 30days and if you like it then you pay $ 99 for the year! It’s a well spent $99.
So what mom wouldn’t want to get a discount on diapers, wipes, food etc. Any savings is a savings in my eyes! You can even set to ship on a certain day of the month this way you know when to expect your next case of diapers, wipes etc.!
You will be surprised to find how quickly your baby will go through all the baby essentials! But not only do you need to shop for baby, you can shop for anything you need and it arrives in just two days! I have to say half of the stuff I want to buy is always cheaper on amazon! So I will wait the two days vs. buying in store and having it immediately. Its great trust me it takes a big load off my shoulders to be an amazon mom!
After becoming a mom the little things you use to do for yourself become a little harder. One of those things for me was polishing my nails. Simple as that right? Well I realized its not so simple. When am I going to have time to do that? Your main focus is your baby. Everything evolves around this new little guy. So going to a nail salon wasn’t going to happen for me, that was the last thing on my mind to do. Plus, I have always been one to polish my own nails. Its fun and it gives me mommy time!
That mommy time was during nap time! I’m sure your saying how do you polish your nails and have them dried by the time baby is up??
Here are a few tips to having those nails dried in no time!
-Nicole Opi drying drops works wonders! Just a drop or two and my nails would dry after just a few minutes! Yet even though they were dry to the touch I wouldn’t go crazy doing dishes or making the bed. I would still give it that extra time to be 100% dry if I could.
-Ice water helps. After polishing your nails dip them in a little container of ice water and leave them in for about 5 minutes or however long you can handle, as it helps speed up that dry time!
-One last trick I’ve tried is Pam cooking spray! Just spray over your polish and let it sit for a few minutes and then wash off. Your nails should be dry! I have no clue why this works but it does and leaves your fingers feeling smooth.
So after that nap was over, it was back to our little routine and of course that is when I felt tired and wanted to nap but couldn’t because he was already up. Thats how it works right, when mommy wants to nap she can’t BUT at least I got my nails polished!
P.S Getting your toes polished is a whole other nap time!! =)
Your little one just started crawling and is everywhere!! It went from your baby being confined to one area such as the play pad, bouncer, or swing and they wouldn’t move unless you moved them which made baby easy to watch. For any parent this is one extreme to the other!
This is when you have to break out the baby gates and outlet plug covers. Pick everything up from the lower floor level and basically making your home child proof.
The baby gates we found most helpful for us were the Regalo easy step walk through gate. They are 41″ tall and up to 40″ wide made of steel not plastic. Which you can find on Amazon for around $34.99.
Now keep in mind that some baby gates you can’t walk through, you either have to step over or take them off. That was definitely helpful information for us when that time came to buying baby gates. Another perk on having these tall gates were because of the two greyhound dogs we have. This kept both of them out of the baby space.
The other step was to child proof all the outlets.
These simple outlet plug covers did the job! My son till this day(21mo) hasn’t even messed with them or tried pulling them out. I found these at my local target for $3 for 36ct. If it does the job and doesn’t cost much that makes this mom happy!
